Watching over us

We came home the other night and let the dog outside. Looking around, we noticed this owl in the tree overlooking our back yard. It looks like a Great Horned owl. It stayed perched on the tree branch for about 10 minutes, and then took off, swooping a long flight to the neighbors’ roof.

The photo on the left was taken with a camera phone. The photo on the right is a close-up taken by the same camera phone, but with a set of binoculars held in front of the lens for a close up!

Very cool.

Self-serve gas

I was pulling up to a traffic light and saw a fire trcuk at a gas station. Looking closer, I noticed several firemen responding to an accident. It seems that a car ran through a lane of traffic, into the gas station parking lot, and knocked over the gas pumps. Notice that they’re sitting on top on the car in the other lane.

Eat Mor Chikin

My son’s baseball team practices on a farm. There are lots of horses and cattle. Unfortunately, there’s one less cow than before. A cow had to be put down, and the photo shows a tractor hauling it away, with the cow hanging from the front forklift.

What a night…

My daughter was on her way to school the other day and sent me this one. Looks like a few cows got loose from their pasture and were either making a break for it, or couldn’t get back in!

Look before you leap (into the pool)

A friend sent me this pic of a Texas Giant Centipede. He found it in his pool as he began to clean it one morning.
